Two types of organizations are eligible: (I) Any Louisiana nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, and (II) Any veterinarian or veterinary hospital licensed in Louisiana. Grants are distributed solely for providing low-cost pet sterilizations by licensed veterinarians.

LPOAC awards grants of up to $1,500 per organization per grant cycle. The exact amount depends on your project scope and available funding.

Grant applications are accepted during the active grant cycle window. Check the homepage or grant portal for the current cycle's open and close dates. Applications can be submitted online through our grant portal or postmarked and mailed to: LPOAC, P.O. Box 740402, New Orleans, LA 70174.

You will need to submit your 501(c)(3) determination letter, articles of incorporation, most current fiscal report, and a list of board of directors. All documents are uploaded directly through the online application portal.

Applications are typically reviewed within 2–4 weeks of the application deadline. You can track your application status in your applicant dashboard, and staff may message you if additional information is needed.

Organizations may apply for grants in multiple grant cycles. However, only one application per organization will be considered per cycle.
