Getting Your Plate Takes 3 Easy Steps
The entire process is handled through the Louisiana Office of Motor Vehicles. No complicated paperwork — just a few minutes of your time.
Visit the Louisiana OMV Website
Fill out the form with your plate number and select "Animal Friendly" when prompted.
Go to OMVComplete the Order Form
The OMV will send you an order form. Fill it out and mail it in. The fee is just $50/year.
Pick Up at Your Local OMV
The OMV notifies you when your plate is ready to pick up at your local office.
Your Plate Funds Real Programs
Every dollar from the Animal Friendly plate royalty fee goes directly into the Pet Overpopulation Fund. The Louisiana Pet Overpopulation Advisory Council distributes these funds as grants to qualifying organizations.
